Matte Rosetta Lace Agate & Carved Alashan Agate Necklace

Some designs feel like they were meant to be a little imperfect—and this one came together with that beautifully natural feeling.

The Matte Rosetta Lace Agate was what drew me in first. Every bead seems to have its own personality, with soft creams, dusty rose, warm rust, earthy brown and smoky gray wandering through the strand. Some are softly mottled while others show beautiful little bands and patterns. I loved that they didn't match perfectly. Together, they reminded me of all the muted colors and textures you find outdoors as the seasons begin to change.

I didn't want to interrupt that natural variation with another polished or brightly colored stone. Instead, I chose three matte Alashan Mongolian Agate flowers in soft, earthy shades. Their carved petals add just a little unexpected texture, almost as though tiny flowers have been tucked among the stones.

Small silver-lined seed beads separate the three flowers, catching just enough light to give the center of the necklace a subtle sparkle without taking away from its soft matte finish.

The finished necklace feels wonderfully earthy and organic—warm, quiet colors, interesting textures, and little details that reveal themselves the longer you look at it. Nothing is perfectly matched, and that's exactly what I love about it.
